Volunteer

HOW TO APPLY

Volunteers should book at least one month in advance through this site. Let us know your interest here and provide us with the approximate dates and length of time you wish to volunteer for. Once we have received your information, we will send you our program information. If you would like us to help you make your living and airport pick-up accommodations, as well as Spanish lesson, please let us know. We accommodate volunteers, groups, universities, and partners.

REQUIREMENTS

• 1 copy of passport, full color
• $120 registration fee*
• Fluent English
• Minimum time commitment: 1 week
• Spanish helpful not mandatory
• At least 18 years of age
• An open attitude
• Willingness to work with children

Note: The UBECI Program also offers the opportunity to volunteer for groups and families. If you are interested in volunteering with your family, please let us know when you sign up. Volunteers under the age of 18 are only allowed to participate if arriving with an adult relative and a letter of permission.

* Does not include airport pickup, lodging and meals.

As per our professional policy, all applicants to UBECI through other volunteer services follow the procedure and pricing policy of that organization, as each one offers unique services and volunteer assistance.

SPANISH CLASSES

One-on-One Spanish Classes (Highly recommended unless fluent) are an option while you are there and can be arranged for you by your volunteer coordinator. If you would like to receive US university credit for your classes in Ecuador, please contact us and let us know so we can help you assess your eligibility.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION:

We are grateful for the time and dedication of our volunteers and are glad to write your recommendation letters or serve as a reference given good performance. If you anticipate needing a recommendation letter from us, or would like to use us as a reference, please email jazzy@ubeci.org at least 1 month prior to the deadline. We do not guarantee letters or reference otherwise.
